New for 2010 Horse Trials

DRESSAGE
-We have built 6 dressage judges' shelters; we know this is not a big deal to the riders, but it is a VERY big deal to us. No more flimsy tents!

CROSS COUNTRY
- Course designer Tremaine Cooper was here mid-May, and gave us his usual long list of changes to make for this year, and some for future years. The biggest change this year is that he wanted a different track for the Training Three-Day riders, so essentially we have six different cross country courses now instead of five. The T3D will include a narrow, arrowhead-style jump and more distance. Some new portables are planned in addition to the different track. Preliminary will have a new line through the water, a new jump in relation to the coffin and a new flower log crossing the creek in place of the tiger trap. Intermediate has a different line to the weldon's wall involving a narrow log, and the corner is now in front of the bounce bank instead of after. Beginner Novice and Novice will have a couple of different lines in their tracks, and novice will drop off the bank after the water.

SHOW JUMPING
Tremaine will also be designing the show jumping course this year. Look for a liverpool and wall at the upper levels, and a new, garden-style jump for the lower levels.

OTHER STUFF
We have a new food vendor this year, who does really, really great barbecue. We're looking forward to the competitors' party.
